Hi, Everybody,
I just wanted to send you all a quick e-mail about the upcoming Republican Club elections. As you know if you have read Julie's e-mail, I have decided not to run again for the position of Club President. I have greatly enjoyed filling that role this year, and I look forward to serving the next few months in that position. My fellow Club officers are all wonderful, hard-working people and I really enjoy working with them. I have also had a wonderful time getting to know all the members of the Club that I have seen at so many meetings. You have all worked so hard to advance the Republican cause in St. Mary's County and in the state of Maryland. Being the Club President has been an incredibly positive experience for me. However, from a personal standpoint, I have decided that being in charge of the Club for another year, and being in charge of a varsity high school athletic program (Chopticon softball) is just a bit too much, from a logistical standpoint. I am looking forward to continuing to serve the Republican party in St. Mary's County in a very active manner, but I think that being part of a group is a better fit for me right now than being the person in charge.
I cannot stress enough how much fun I have had being your president this year and I thank you all very much for allowing me the opportunity to serve the Club in this way. I encourage you all to think seriously about running for any of the vacant positions, as Julie described them to you. We have so much talent in our Club membership...I know that there are many people out there that would do a wonderful job in these roles.
